Peace Of Mind: You’ll Feel Safe Here

Office Safety

Your dental health is too important to neglect! If you have any uncertainties about safety in our office, please tell us. We will be happy to spend a few minutes discussing this important topic with you and set your mind at ease.

HERE ARE SOME OF THE DETAILS:
Many people are fearful of dental visits for various reasons. We are acutely aware of the apprehension many of the patients referred to our office experience prior to meeting us. One of these sources of anxiety, that of being exposed to contagious diseases, is prevented by a host of specific precautions we take throughout the day to protect our patients and ourselves. Our commitment to you is that we will exercise our best professional skill and judgment on your behalf at all times. Your safety and well-being are our foremost objective.

The following are several of the sterilization and infection control measure that we use to assure your safety in our office.

  •  Our staff strictly adheres to universal safety precautions established by the Centers for Disease Prevention, OSHA and the American Dental Association. They are used for every patient at every visit and include: single-use disposable gloves, facemasks, eye protection, surgical scrubs and antiseptic hand washing between patients.
  •  Everything that is used in a patient’s mouth is either heat sterilized or disposable. We follow stringent sterilization procedures. All instruments are cleaned in an ultrasonic water bath prior to entering the high heat of an autoclave.
  • Before you enter any treatment room, all countertops, the dental chair, the dental light and drawer handles have been cleaned and decontaminated. Some equipment parts are covered with disposable plastic wrap for further protection.
  •  Sharp items and anything contaminated with blood or saliva are disposed of in special containers and are removed from the office by medical waste professionals.

To further assure your safety, most of our staff are certified in basic cardiac life support by the American Heart Association and attend numerous continuing education courses annually. Don’t hesitate to let any of us know if there is anything we can do to make your visits with us as pleasant and comfortable as possible.
